Ja’far and Sin’s appearance

The following text is about all the moments Ja’far has expressed an opinion/done something about Sinbad’s appearance.
First of all isn’t it weird that we can talk about something like this? Sinja’s relationship has so much detail something as specific as this can be discussed, so let’s talk about this.

Ja’far does not only seem to care about Sin’s looks as an advisor looking out for his king’s appearance, he also has expressed in a very clear way that he finds Sin attractive. He also is directly and actively involved with the maintenance of his appearance.

It suits you

This is form chapter 84, it’s the first time Ja’far talks about Sin’s looks. Sinbad was seen without his jacket-thing in previous chapters, after he came back alive from slavery. The fact Sin is wearing his jacket again doesn’t only objectically improve his appearace, it’s a symbolism about his recovery, about his survival. Ja’far is talking about the jacket looking good on him like always but he is expressing his happiness about having the old Sin back. I really like this moment, it seems insignificant but it’s powerful.

No, not you

This one is crackish (it’s chapter 120′s choitashi) but at the same time it says a lot.
Finding someone attractive depends of the eye of the beholder. Ja’far has never expressed himself about anyone else’s appearance as he does here with Sin’s. The joke is they are looking for more money to make up for the company’s expenses, thus Ja’far asks Sin to strip so they can make money out of that fanservice. Sin doesn’t want to cause it’s cold, so Mystras offers himself instead. However Ja’far bluntly rejects him, saying he’s fine like that.
So, if Sin strips he’s attractive and they can make money, but according to Ja’far Mystras isn’t (even tho for us many fans Mystras is obviously attractive).
The situation is clear: Ja’far finds Sin attractive but not Mystras. It’s so funny but also cute. It’s also the only time Ja’far has expressed himself about finding people attractive.

Please shave

This one is a small drawing in between Snb’s 7th volume. It’s a moment before Sinbad goes to see Mira to get his metal vessels back. They just made it out the chasm. Ja’far asks Sin to care more about his appearance and wants him to shave his stubble (or something like that, can’t find the post). Sin is saying something like: Really? Doesn’t it look good? Isn’t it cool?
Ja’far might be just worried about his master not looking clean, I’m sure Rurumu must have taught him a stubble doesn’t look good or maybe it’s his own opinion (?). Anyway, it’s adorable. Ja’far must have shaved him, since they don’t have any mirrors near them (btw I was planning to draw that soon).
And so, Ja’far thinks a stubble is inappropiate/looks bad/ruins Sin’s looks therefore he’s shaving him. And even if Sin doesn’t want his stubble to be gone he still listens to Ja’far.

This one is my absolute favorite. They have been working none-stop and they smell, they literally smelled each other, …that intimacy…That “we should take a bath (together)” and then the maids getting their hairs done. Them, together, getting ready for the day, side by side, instead of each one in their own rooms. It really looks like they bathed together.
Sinbad is the king and Ja’far is his advisor but they are both being fixed in the same room sitting next to each other. They look like a couple of kings tbh.
And the stubble again. This time he even gave Sin a percentage of how much it ruins his looks. The “appeal” of the high king of the seven seas. It’s Ja’far’s specific opinion about Sin’s appeal.
Sin is used to it, he’s just affected about how high the percentage is.
The funny part is that after this the two of them shave their own eyebrows out of sleep depriveness. It’s like Ja’far really doesn’t like his stubble, he’s even fine with Sin without eyebrows but not the stubble.

Sewing, washing and organizing

In the CD drama: Listen, Aladdin-kun, some pieces of information about Ja’far are given. One of them is the fact that Ja’far is good at sewing clothes, he’s very skilled and gets the job done really fast. He also reveals he used to sew human insides…lol.
He is sewing Alibaba’s clothes but is complaining to Aladdin that Sin is a brute and that he has to sew his clothes oftenly when he ruins them and wash them when they get dirty.
I’m sure they have enough servants to do such jobs even when they travel, but Ja’far still do them for him. I’m sure he does because he wants to, but also because he cares too much about it and can’t leave it to anyone else.
Maybe they also don’t want the royalty life to get to their heads ooor maybe they are used to Ja’far doing it since a long time ago and don’t want it to change.
Ja’far is also very attentive about Sin, therefore he might be the only one that notices things like his clothes getting dirty or ripped.
Apparently he also organizes Sin’s clothing, since he put his clothes somewhere and Sin couldn’t find them.
I hope that the manga jokes about stuff like this in the future.
So Ja’far is directly involved with keeping Sin’s good looks even to the point of washing his clothes and sewing them when they are in adventures together. I’m sure it’s annoying for him but he also wants to be in charge of it. He’s such a good wife.

And this are the ones I could remember. If you remember more, you are free to add them here or send me an ask ♥.
What to say about this, I’m happy Ja’far is so directly involved with Sin’s appearance as his advisor but also as himself and that he has personal opinions about it. I love that it’s so clear he finds him attractive and wants to keep him that way. The real question is: is he aware he finds him attractive? :3c Has he given that a thought? Knowing him possibly not, he’s too focused on other things.

Ja’far is 13 so…

As you may already know Sin is 17 in current Partevia arc in Snb’s manga, which means our precious cinnamon roll Ja’far is 13…which means he’s closer to being 14…WHICH MEANS:

Yes, Sin bought a new shirt for Ja’far when he was 14!!! I hope Ohtera draws something about it!! At least an omake!! PLEASE. New clothes for Ja’far! Also maybe Sin bought it to him because he finally grew a bunch? I hope so ♥♥♥

We have this beautiful panel:

but look closer:

image

“SIN!”

Yes, Ja’far is calling him Sin during working hours, he didn’t call him “president”. I saw in other translations that he called him Sin indeed but I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Ja’far called him Sin again!!!!

Ohtaka: pay attention to the subtle changes

Sin made Ja’far call him “Sin” again >+o iojopjopioiuyyttrerterwsrts. Is that what he wanted? Also Ja’far looks happy, is he making him happy?

More Ja’far (sinja) rambling

I have been waiting for this for months, so many months dammit

image

Ja’far’s feelings in one sentence. This is exactly what I wanted. It sucks it’s only one thought from Alibaba though. I thought that since Ja’far always told Alibaba he can count on him if he wanted to talk, he was going to talk with him at some point. It’s sad.

I guess that Ja’far was truly worried about having to fight with the main trio and support Sin, who seemed to not be himself lately.

And Ja’far knew everything, yet Sin still wanted him out of his office when Arba was around. Well, Sin was isolating himself and considering what he’s thinking in chapter 317 it was all for Ja’far’s well-being.

And here is where my heart breaks again:

image

Aladdin mentioning the desires and hopes of each one. “Wanting to make your people happy” is the only think Ja’far wants? Isn’t it cute yet sad? Because he knows Sin is suffering and feels lonely when he could rely on him but he chooses not to. Even tho Ja’far wants him to. Well this is mere assumption but still, it does look like it, always.

And then this:

image

Aladdin says what probably Ja’far always tells him? Or what he always wanted to tell him? (Look at his reaction) That he isn’t alone. I hope this not left like this. C’mon Ja’far was always by his side, I think he deserves some recognition from Sin himself. I really hope so.

image

And lastly this again. Rejoice at Ja’far calling him “Sin”. All this “president” thing was really upseting. This is definitely their best interaction in months. But then again, hope this isn’t all. Also that phrase kinda suggests Ja’far always knew he could see destiny so I really doubt he doesn’t know about David at this point? He knew about Arba so he must know about David….or so I think.

Anyway, let’s hope things improve a little before they become terrible again and if they become terrible, that they improve in the end.

Tell us about your favourite SinJa AU (Also best of luck with your finals too!)

Hey anon thank you!!! I approved everything! And sorry for the late reply >+o in the end I was absorbed by school and then wanted to rest a little.

Hmmmmm that’s a tough one. I pretty much enjoy every AU the same.

I guess my favs are Kou AU and modern AUs in which sinja get married and adopt children, like Aladdin, Mor and Alibaba.

Kou Au is about Ja’far and Aladdin working for the Kou empire, while Judar belongs to Sindria and he’s Sinbad’s Magi. It’s based on the panel in which Aladdin talks about other dimensions and that’s what is portaited in it.

Some friends have nice versions of Kou Au, for example @patchwork-panda wrote this amazing fic The way we were (you must read it), it even has some sin/ju and en/ja. There’s also @sayosamonjis‘s Kou AU in which Aladdin is from Al Thamen and has fallen into depravity. I also have drawn some and other people too. If you are interested visit my Kou au tag please! ♥ It has everything I have reblogged from Kou Au pics and HCs ♥

My personal Kou Au has Sinja but also some Judala.

As I said I love modern AUs of married Sinja, I’m also a slut for woman Ja’far or Sinbad. My recent AU is about girl Ja’far being adopted by Hinahoho and Rurumu as their first daughter, because they always wanted to have an adopted child. Ja’far comes from an abusive household and that’s were she got her leg scars, she has some issues because of those experiences ofc. Badr and Esra live next door and are friends with Hinarumu so that’s how Sin and Ja’far meet. And well they bond and grow up together, etc.
Suddenly when Sin hits puberty he starts dreaming about a weird world in which he’s king. Sin starts to dream about it more often and realizes it could be his previous life. He also is astonished that Ja’far is a man in it and even more that he is attracted to him. Anyway Sin starts to get worried about those dreams and gets a big feeling of guilt out of them. He wakes up crying and asking for forgiveness. He doesn’t remember the dreams for completely so he’s not sure why he feels like that.
Later he finds out he was the responsible for Ja’far’s death in his previous life and the previous Sin still can’t forgive himself for that (I think Arbakuei killed Ja’far or something like that, last Magi arc Arabakuei), that’s why present Sin has those dreams. He apologizes with Ja’far for it and tells her everything about his dreams, etc. Anyway, there’s more drama, Ja’far’s real parents appear and stuff like that and she ends up being hurt lol.
In the end sinja get married and obviously adopt children because that’s kind of what Ja’far always wanted (since he’s adopted himself). They also have their own children later, etc, etc. Still have to work on that story.

Thanks for asking me that ♥

About current sinja interactions

I have read several opinions about them from recent Magi chapters and I agree with most of them, but I still have some stuff to add.

There’s definitely something not fine between them. At least most of us have got that vibe, but also their interactions are so brief and meaningless so far, it’s hard to tell.

Honestly I think Ja'far is worried about Sinbad and knows he’s struggling, but is afraid to address it because he doesn’t want to make it worse. And Sinbad is struggling and he’s afraid to tell Ja'far because he doesn’t want Ja'far to worry…

In a way it’s a pretty normal kind of relationship issue… In the end things will be forced into the open and it will be painful but they will realize that confiding in each other is really important…

You wrapped it up nicely. They are such a couple omg >+o.

I still dream of the possibility of the two of them fooling everybody. Of them putting that act of distance in front of Arbakuei, but being together in this. So that when the time comes they can get rid of her somehow.

I’d prefer that it is that way >+o….. A woman can dream, right?

I just pictured Sin and Ja’far doing it in Sin’s office as usual, when Arba appears all of a sudden in that magic circle.

Ja’far: YOU TOLD ME SHE WAS GOING TO BE BACK TOMORROW

Arba: oh my, you get along so well, just as I thought. …Can I watch?

Sinbad: ……..

Ja’far: ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT IT, YOU IDIOT??
