Back when sinbad took aladdin and the others to sindria or I guess while helping out a bit in balbadd was it because he cared for them and wanted to help or the fact that once he found out aladdin is a Magi, morgiana a fanalis and alibaba who was a dungeon capturer and became a hero in balbadd was that the reason wanted power and strength or both? I personally thought he cared. He risked his life and he’s still sinbad. Got to love him ❤️

Personally i think it’s a bit of both. Sinbad likes power to safe guard his assets, and Morgiana, Aladdin and Alibaba just happened to fall into his lap on his trip to Balbadd!

image

But at the same time, the 3 of them give him nostalgia, he does long pauses, he knows what he’s become when it involves using other people to protect what he wants to protect, and have what he wants to have. They remind him of who he was before the bitterness of life took hold.

image

When he first met Morgiana and Aladdin and before he knew Alibaba was the Prince, and before he knew Aladdin was a Magi, he wanted to help Balbadd because he cared and repected King Rashid. He already planned to help Balbadd before knowing what Aladdin was.

On Ja’far and the Gestaltzerfall Effect from Volume 34

Hi everyone! Murphy here again. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on of these theories on this blog, huh. Sinja is really thriving these days with Snb and all~ This time I will be focussing on the Volume 34 Paper, the Love Counselling Session with Pisti. (SEE BELOW)

image

The raws were posted by someone on twitter or tumblr? If someone knows please let me know so I can credit them~ Thank you!

The translation of Ja’far’s piece reads:

Ja’far: “I’ve been so busy with work and my vision is getting bleary. I now suffer from Gestaltzerfall when reading the 恋 in 恋爱.”

Pisti: “It’s going to be alright! It’s probably has something to do with your age as well… never mind, sorry, forget what I said.”

I’m sure every SinJa and Ja'far lover was confused when they read this. We finally get a peek into Ja’far’s love life but we are given this weird content instead? What does Gestaltzerfall mean? Why does this affect only Ja’far?

Well, I have yet to see a proper post detailing this which is why I am going to try my hand at analysing it today! Everyone please bear with me! (Long post ahead, watch out!!)

One of the reasons I love the Japanese language is because it’s so easy to slip in double meaning that make great fuel for metatheories.

But yes I do think this is the case. It makes the most sense. Otherwise, why put Jafar in there in the first place. From the enormous magi cast, he’s not the first person you’d associate with a love life (even though he does have one). So not only from a character perspective but also from a writer’s perspective this theory is the one that is the most logical. (especially because of the nature of Jafar’s love life the writers can’t openly declare it. Though times are changing and I feel that in a few years writers can be a bit more open about these sorts of relationships.)

In addition, Pisti stops talking about Ja’far’s age like if he were the type to get offended when reminded that he’s getting old. However we know Ja’far doesn’t really care about his age (that would be Sinbad). Her reply is really suspicious, she seems to stop before she touches a delicate issue.

wait did sinbad or jafar die? was sinja canon or? did magi end already? did sinbad end up with someone romantically? what happened?

Hi anony, (SPOILER ALERT)

1) …no…well Sinbad died in Magi at the end (the pic you probably saw was the moment he died the first time….yes he died twice), but it has been heavily implied that he’ll be back.
Ja’far just thought he was gonna die (the other pic you probably saw, but it happened in Sinbad no Bouken’s storyline), but he’s alive.

2) sinja is not canon, it’s doomed to be queerbait forever. It still has chances to be canon “offscreen” I guess.

3) Yes, Magi ended.

4) It’s confirmed it would be unlikely for Sinbad to fall in love overall. And no, he ended with nobody. BUT HE’LL END UP WITH JA’FAR WHEN HE’S BACK. At least they will spend the rest of their lives together as it should be.

4) Magi ended with Sinbad dead and Ja’far waiting for his return. Sinbad died regretting all the bad things he had done and wanting to return to his friends.

THEORY TIME:

But tbh, the moment I saw the last volume cover (below) I knew Sinbad was going to return and in not so many years.

image

The fact Sinbad appears in his human form, with his crown, with no metal vessels and without another important piece of cloth (that magentaish purple jacket…thing?) suggests this is Sinbad’s final form in the story and not old Sinbad when he was king of Sindria (before final arc).
Everyone else in the cover is shown as they would look at the end of the story, even tho not all of them showed up in the last chapter. For example Kouen is shown on a chair because he lost his limbs after Zagan and all the other djinns were released. We knew this was going to happen, but it’s never shown in the story. It’s  only on the cover.

image

However Sinbad’s last form in Magi was the one of a god. Drawing his spirit flying somewhere wouldn’t have been difficult.
But we got a new human form instead.
Which means that everyone on the cover appear in their final appearances, Sinbad included.

So either, Sinbad will come back really soon like @murphy-stoffelis pointed out to me some time ago. Or he will return in not so many years, like I thought after seeing this cover. And when he comes back, he’ll return as king of Sindria, hence the crown.
PLUS in the cover it totally looks like Pisti is celebrating Sin’s return (?)

However there is more: really awesome people wrote theories about his return and even tho their ideas come from different sources, they arrive to the same conclusion. Sinbad may come back in 7 years!

Magi ch.323  -  Sinbad no Bouken ch.169

I was too busy to talk about this when it was out but:
LISTEN, this parallelism is not like the others? Most of the others imitated Magi panels in their exact compositions, everything in the same place with some changes ofc. However this one, this one is like a response, like a dialogue. And only because Ja’far’s head was drawn in the opposite direction.
Try to picture how it happened. Ohtera-sensei definitely has Magi’s manga with him when he does this parallelisms. He probably was ready to draw Ja’far in the same position as Sinbad, but….chose not to, on purpose. I don’t know the reason ofc, but his decision made both scenes more powerful to me somehow.
They happen in different contexts ofc, but both Sin and Ja are experiencing the same feeling. They know they are gonna die and they are satisfied with their deaths, ….but in the end, none of them died. This is the parallelism ofc. The same feeling in a similar situation, also same conclusion….except Ja’far’s face is heading Sinbad’s way. It’s funny because Ja’far’s death exeprience happened years before Sin’s, but his panel is like a response to Sinbad’s panel.
Maybe Ohtera-sensei just wanted them to look at each other, because he wanted them to match? Or maybe because it looks good composition-wise (?). But maybe he also wanted their deaths to speak to each other? I wish my English was better to explain what I actually mean.
I feel that their connection is much stronger now, somehow.
I know they are in different panels in different mangas/books and stories, but…. I’m sure this is on purpose. I’m almost sure Ohtera-sensei wanted them to indirectly look at each other or maybe he just wanted them to be united.

Conspirancy theories aside, It looks like their spirits are meeting happily in the afterlife. Smiling at each other. And what smiles they carry…especially Ja’far’s ♥.
Anyway, it’s beautiful. Thank you for so much Ohtera-sensei.

Magi 369 sinbad’s fate
sinjaria

Okay now that some time has passed since spoilers i went back to find this panel

image

This image was Alibaba’s depiction of the future which we do not see in the final chapter but we can expect this is what will happen in the next few years if the story was to continue. However whats odd is that even though it was mentioned he died Sinbad is clearly visible in the back in his sindrian outfit.

image

Topped with the above image from magi 368 it asks the question did Ohtaka initially plan for Sinbad to come back? Did plans change at the very end? or was this intentionally done to create an open ending for the reader to interpret? Was sinbad’s fate intentionally left unanswered because it could be addressed through a long timeskip in the adventures of sinbad?

image

WIth both Alibaba and Jafar certain Sinbad would return and knowing that Jafar has returned to Sindria and Sinbad is dressed in his Sindrian robes in a future image which could be around 6-7 years after the final based on the next gen kids height could the readers really assume that Sinbad does return after several years and that when he does he will return to sindria? Or once again is all this a sign that someone behind the scenes of the story interfered with perhaps what were initial plans? Or was this set up for the adventures of sinbad?. The fact we still got snb creates that little ray of hope that we will find a resolution or get some answers as to what happened

reblogging to tie in with a post i just reblogged from @nawcutebubu and its all certainly makes sense.

I was checking volume 19 and Alibaba’s expression in this panel caught my attention again:

image

For years, I didn’t think much of Alibaba’s sweat-dropping. I thought he was just nervous or worried that Kougyoku was being friendly with him in front of her protective and scary brother. However, this time, I recalled a backstage in which Aladdin was running away from Alibaba in djinn equip mode because if he touched him, he will get burned. My new interpretation is that Alibaba became worried when Kougyoku touched him because his skin while in djinn equip mode will burn her hand. Also, in volume 30 omake paper Kougyoku described his djinn equip that it was hot (to the point it burned her).

Pic from volume 19 Viz edition.

Mira leading? + Sinbad and women

It seems like without Sinbad, Mira is the one who leads the board of directors? It’s not confirmed but she seems to be the one commanding everyone to fight Alibaba….I mean, she’s doing it in more than one panel with everyone else behind her.

Even if this ends up not being canon I really love the idea.

Can I say that even tho it was a very little panel, I appreciate Ja’far representing Partevia instead of Ceylan? (Nothing against him btw). Right now he’s only a vice-president (of the most important trading company), but he still doesn’t have any political power anymore, nor is he a king vessel or owns a metal vessel….

So even if it was such an insignificant panel, the fact that he stands out just because he’s important as himself made me happy…

This panel, I find to be how I see Sinbad. He’s calling Aladdin the contradiction, and that Aladdin is being influenced by others, and sees Aladdin just as a puppet, with strings being pulled.

But, this too can be said of Sinbad, I’m thinking from the time he got involved with Al Tharmen in SnB, he’s just played into their hands, Dispite him thinking he is in control, he has been influenced by David, and influenced by Arba, even by Falan with her ‘Singularity you are special story’ and he’s now saying it’s Solomon’s will that he survived the Sacred Palace. Sinbad is really the puppet here.
