I'm confused...if sinbad succeeds does that mean characters who have died will be revived?

Not necessarily. The world will be “reset”, so even if everyone does return, I’m not sure if they will be the same as before - my gut feeling says no, like how when you reset a game it’s the “same” character, but depending on your actions they might turn out to be completely different.

Still, since so far we have little information on how it exactly works, I would prefer to not speculate that much for the time being.

I understood something much worse. If all the rukh returns…doesn’t it mean that everyone will lose their sense of self? Since rukh are only soul particles. Just like Aladdin inherited Sheba’s rukh, wouldn’t new people be born out of everyone’s rukh? Because their beings will be lost in the rukh.
Also all the people that died coming back at the same time with the people who are alive in the present? That’s a lot of people or is Sin planning to repeat history so old people come first and then after thousands of years the characters we know are reborn?

I hope Ohtaka makes it clearer in future chapters….

Did Sin spared Ja’far from the brainwashing? Everyone else is happy (?)
He looks awfully sad…and so am I

I think Ja'far might be secretly immune too… My theory is when he stopped his own heart in Zeper’s dungeon, or even that time in Valfor’s dungeon when him, vittel and Mahad turned into that beast! (or maybe something yet untold in SnB) In any event, this panel gives me hope for at least Ja'far

Same!! And that’s a really nice theory! Definitely dying and coming back has to change something. Or maybe it is because of Ja’far’s 2 entities/personalities? (Talking about the Ja’far twins.) Ja’far is an enigma. Also Ja’far could be falling into depravity….we sitll don’t know about that.

I’m gonna do something I usually don’t do which is: share a crazy, unlikely theory.

I can’t help but feel Arba is also gonna do something. Sinbad is treating Illah badly, Ugo is nuts. If Arba doesn’t convince Ugo, she’s gonna have to join forces with Aladdin and Alibaba. If Ja’far’s rukh is unaffected like we are thinking, could it be because of her? What if she contacted him, knowing that he would disagree. Maybe being with Sin and Ja’far for 3 years and seeing Sin leaving Ja’far out of his plans made her realize Ja’far would be totally against Sin’s current goal. What if she chooses him because the idea of working with Solomon’s son disgusts her? I know it’s a crazy theory, but I can dream. I wish Ja’far becomes important somehow. No one else has the right to stop Sin, it must be him. I’m gonna be disappointed if it isn’t him.

Hope

I know I’ve been a pessimist about Magi lately (the last 2 months), so much I don’t even dare to make serious comments about it like I used to.
It’s the pain mostly, cause I love Sin, cause I love his relationship with Ja’far and cause I love the Sin who sincerely wants to help people and give them a fair life.

But in all honesty I still can’t stop hoping *sigh*. Sinbad no Bouken makes me hope. Magi will end and SnB will continue. How are we gonna empathize with Sin and his love for his comrades and his genuine care for oppressed people and unfairness, if Magi’s Sin ends up not giving a shit not even about his close family dying? There is a limit. Ofc it could be still the great story of young Sin before his corruption, but….I still doubt things are left like this.
Seriously, even if it is the past, his suffering would be not appealing at all, it would not make us sad because we would be aware that in the future he will kill his loved ones just because “he wanted to”. How would we actually feel the pain of someone who we know will behave like that years later? Kinda hard to do…. even for me and I love Sin.
So, yes, that thought gives me hope.

Ja’far killing Sin would destroy Ja’far. I think it is plausible now that Sin reached the bottom, but it’s also an undesirable ending. Unless Sin redeems himself before being killed or something, I guess.
Worst case scenario is: Ja’far attempts to kill Sin but Sin kills him instead. I actually can’t believe that scenario is possible now….it is, it actually is. If it happens prepare because oh gawd….idk how will I react.

Still like I said, SnB gives me hope. We wouldn’t believe/enjoy/FEEL the bonds Sin formed with his family in SnB if they completely disappeared in Magi. So. there is hope.

And well, can I dream of a Ja’far cover for the manga again? Will Ohtaka finally give the character both western and japanese fans love most, the spotlight we all want him to have? C’mon Ohtaka, pls.
Well, we still have to see the rest of the chapter. Can you imagine the rest of the pages finally being out and Ja’far being brainwashed too in them??? That would be so boring tbh.

We have this beautiful panel:

“SIN!”

Yes, Ja’far is calling him Sin during working hours, he didn’t call him “president”. I saw in other translations that he called him Sin indeed but I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Ja’far called him Sin again!!!!

Ohtaka: pay attention to the subtle changes

Sin made Ja’far call him “Sin” again >+o iojopjopioiuyyttrerterwsrts. Is that what he wanted? Also Ja’far looks happy, is he making him happy?

Ja’far is a mango

Actually I wanted to talk about a post I recently found about a Magi magazine article in which the theme was: If Ja’far was a fruit which one would he be? (It’s in the queue for tomorrow :3c be patient). The answer is: a mango.
And the explanation was: because he looks sweet and may be sweet in the outside but in the inside he’s juicy and full of substance (apparently). For me it was: he’s just not only a cute face, there’s much more inside, I liked it.

Then the questions were kinda fandom oriented. Why is he sweet? Only in the outside, in the inside he’s very strict.
One of them was about how Ja’far would be as a partner and another answer covered how would it be to date Ja’far (the answer btw is: boring lol). I like it because it made clear Ja’far’s only reason to take action is to benefit Sindria and the king. He would be boring as a lover because he’s not interested in relationships and only thinks about serving Sin and the kingdom. I loved it. So, now it’s canon for me that Ja’far would not be with anybody since he’s too focused on Sin and the kingdom. Nice.

However, I always thought that if Ja’far would be a fruit, he would be a cherimoya.

image

Just look at it. It’s green outside and white with black seeds in the inside. Idk if you have cherimoyas where you live but they are native from my country. These things are also so sweet (delicious) and full of substance. But the seeds can’t be eaten, nor the peel. Just as there are parts in Ja’far that are too bitter. Yeah, he would be a perfect cherimoya. The cherimoya just needs to have that slender waist the article talks about and done, Ja’far (pft).

I seriously need to buy that magazine.

Ja’far’s feelings for Sinbad +

This is yet another post talking about Ja’far’s reaction towards Sin’s death.
I have addressed this before but with more feelings than an objective opinion, so let’s begin.

Everyone has talked fairly about how Ja’far will move on from this.
In my opinion, however, there are some important details about Ja’far’s feelings left behind.
I personally find important to not ignore the great love Ja’far feels towards Sinbad, despite of what you think those feelings are. These are not something that I prefer him to have, these exist, and so has been stated several times.

More than anyone else:

Sinbad is not only another member of Ja’far’s family, Sinbad is the member he loves most. Probably all generals feel this way, with some exceptions. This is probably why Ohtaka especially has addressed Ja’far’s feelings as the one who loves Sinbad more than anyone else. Because we all know pretty much everyone loves Sin a lot. So, she made clear: from all of his people that love him, Ja’far loves him most. This was not something Ja’far said himself, this is something that was stated about him in Magi’s encyclopedia.

About Sinbad in Magi 322

Tfw Sinbad became Walter White.

Now I understand why the conversation he had with Ja’far was important. He was thinking about his family before it and he agreed with Ja’far’s words, but still couldn’t give up on the idea. That’s when he understood all was for him.
He listened to Ja’far and agreed with him but his desire to do it remained.

I’m sad and happy about it. I want Ugo to discourage him and stop him, without killing him if possible. But I’m also glad he finally accepted it’s all for his sake and is kinda proud that he’s not doing it for anybody he wants to protect.
The concept is so human. People who love too much, help others too much, want to protect their beloved ones so much and take all the blame/responsibility when they fail…..they kind of get tired of thinking too much about others and want to be selfish for the sake of it in the end. It makes perfect sense.
Maybe young Sin was more comfortable with being selfish and overconfident, but after he went through the death of a lot of his beloved ones, who were under his care, made him become a paranoid and more careful person.
He still gambled a lot but tried not to put others at risk and was able to manipulate his enemies so he could protect his country, etc. But I guess that was too much weight for our adventurous Sin. His real self. And now that things got out of his control and he had a break down he is just ….leting it all out (?).

A funny way to see it is, that, just like a lot of us were saying, he’s having the most savage midlife crisis and everyone around him is suffering the consequences. This is ofc the result of years of stress and being worried about everything always as well.

I love how easier to understand, yet even more complex, Sin’s character is becoming lately. It makes me love him even more.

But in all honesty: Ugo, beat shit out of him. He’s doing the wrong thing.

Even so Ja’far tried, he finally told him what he had in mind.

Sinbad acted as if Ja’far’s speech had opened his eyes and smiled to him playfully.
However that time at the summit, when Sin learnt he was connected to a god, he stopped listening to Ja’far, forever.
But at least he didn’t want him to worry. He made sure to leave Ja’far at ease. He never wanted him to be involved in that mess. In his own selfish way he cares about Ja’far’s happiness I suppose.

Sinbad is doing all of this to protect his family, he firmly believes in that while blinded by David’s influence and his own arrogance.

Still after so many months Ohtaka made sure we understand why Sin is doing this and that it is not him turning “evil”. He’s totally mistaken but his intentions are the best….I guess.

All of this is just…tragic.

I wonder what will happen when Ja’far finds out tho….

I always thought SnB might end where Sinbad was first introduced in the Baalbad arc from Magi, but wouldn’t it be amazing if it lasted all the way through Magi, and filled in all those “off screen” happenings, like releasing Kougyoku from Zeper, how Sinbad came to be back in Partevia in his huge tower, and watch him slowly alienate himself, then at the end i hope he lives a long happy life with Ja'far.

These are my hopes and dreams too.
